Marsala city, Stagnone Ettore Infersa salt pans, and Mothia island
Duration 6 hours approxStarting From 220 € per person
Tour of Marsala city, the salt pans of Stagnone Ettore Infersa, and Mothia island.
In the midst of the salt pans between Trapani and Marsala lies the tiny San Pantaleo Island, owned by the Whitaker family since the early 20th century. It can be reached by boat from the quay next to the Ettore & Infersa windmill, undoubtedly the most charming of the many windmills that dot the salt pans between Trapani and Marsala. Visiting the island means immersing yourself in a world where time seems to have stood still and where you will feel like true archaeologists discovering the fascinating Phoenician settlement of Motya. Inside Villa Whitaker is the museum, which is worth a visit, if only to admire the splendid Motya Ephebe from 440 B.C.
